Misdemeanour Law

Representation of individuals, entrepreneurs, and legal entities in misdemeanour proceedings.

A legal consultation concerning initiated misdemeanour proceedings.

Misdemeanour proceedings may have significant financial and business consequences for individuals, entrepreneurs, legal entities, and their responsible persons.

We provide advice and representation from the initiation of proceedings through the decision and the use of available legal remedies.

A misdemeanour often feels minor until a large fine, a ban on business activity or a driving licence suspension arrives. We help assess and avoid such consequences where there are grounds to do so.

Areas of Practice

  • Defence in misdemeanour proceedings
  • Traffic offences
  • Commercial and tax offences
  • Offences committed by legal entities and responsible persons
  • Requests for judicial review
  • Appeals against misdemeanour decisions
  • Enforcement of misdemeanour sanctions

How we approach your matter

We review the request to initiate misdemeanour proceedings or the penalty notice and check whether the facts were correctly established, whether the procedure was lawful and whether the limitation period has expired.

We represent individuals, entrepreneurs and responsible persons in companies before the misdemeanour court, propose evidence and, when a decision is wrong, appeal to the higher court.

How we work together

  • Review: we analyse the notice, request or record you have received.
  • Assessment: we establish whether there are grounds to challenge it.
  • Representation: we prepare the defence and represent you before the misdemeanour court.
  • Appeal: we challenge the decision when the law or the facts were not respected.

Worth knowing

A penalty notice must be challenged within a short period after receipt; otherwise it becomes final. Do not ignore a notice even if you believe it is obviously unfounded.

A small case does not mean small consequences, so we give it the same care.
